Kindred Named to Fortune Magazine’s List of World’s Most Admired Companies for Eighth Time

Company Ranked Third in Category for Innovation, Reflecting Kindred’s Network Development Strategy

LOUISVILLE, Ky.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 21, 2017-- Kindred Healthcare, Inc. (“Kindred” or the “Company”) (NYSE:KND) today announced that it was named one of the World’s Most Admired Companies by Fortune magazine. This is the eighth time the Company has made the list. Kindred ranked third for innovation among the companies in the “Health Care: Medical Facilities” category.

The list of the World’s Most Admired Companies is the definitive report card on corporate reputations. Fortune collaborated with its partner Korn Ferry Hay Group on this survey of corporate reputations. To determine the best-regarded companies in 51 industries, Korn Ferry Hay Group asked executives, directors, and analysts to rate enterprises in their own industry on nine criteria, from investment value and quality of management and products to social responsibility and ability to attract talent. A company’s score must rank in the top half of its industry survey to be listed.
